InDesign always ask where to save file, even when I open it

I work on a G5, InDesign CS2 and for some reason, everytime when I save the file, InDesign ask me where to save it. It does not even go to the Jobfolder, but to the last place where I saved something.

Any suggestions what could cause this?

Thanks, Dimitri

Are you opening older files that were originally created in CS1?

no, that's the funny thing.

I open them, have to save as, and when I have to open them one minute later again, same thing happens.

very weird...

another thing - related i think - when I have a file open, but i double click it again on the server, instead of just showing me the open indesign file, it opens another one.

so then i have the same file open twice with the same filename...?

thanks - dimitri

I have a hunch it may be a preference setting in Adobe Version Cue???

Maybe try toggle Version Cue on and off.

I tried recreating the problem here but couldn't. :?
