photoshop layercomps images import into Indesign cs2

Helll all,

I have a photoshop image which has been build as a layer comps feature in photoshop, when i import into indesign cs2 using 6-7 layers of this image through import feature, try to make a high res pdf through export from Indesign, this takes a while, is there a workaround while saving my photoshop file or while importing into indesign cs2, so my pdf does take normal time to export. I just strat using this feature of layer comps, so any advise, suggestions on this one will be greatly appreciated..

I bet you'd save a ton of time if you save a copy of the .psd how you want it instead of using the layer comps.

Why can't you flatten the file when your ready to import into ID, using save as?

Take advantage of version cue and do as Pointy suggests. Just keep track of the naming protocol and flatten each version prior to placing in ID.

thanks for your feedback, but if i flatten the file, can i see my layer comps option or layer names while importing into Indesign, i thought this file should be a .psd layered file in order to see layer names under the menu of Object layers option in iNDESign, i am still confused..

thanks for your help!

well you can either have the layers and make pdfs slower OR flatten the file (to one layer) and make the pdf quicker.

maybe SOME of the photoshop layers could be merged to simplify the file - so you can have some of the layers and make your pdf a little quicker - a compromise.

choice is yours
