step and repeat irregularly's in Indesign

Hi Guy’s,

Just want to ask quickly if any one is having the same problem?
Basically it an intermittent one doesn’t always happen just seems to on a big job that i haven't thoroughly checked, ‘like yesterday’! Whoops

Any way it is a problem with step and repeat in Indesign, only experiencing it with pdf’s at the minute but it’s happened a few time.

Basically when i place a pdf and then repeat manually several times over the spread guaranteed that the one i have placed is ok but the ones i repeat over the page seem have characters missing, like in the middle of a word, the odd letter here and there go missing?? :? On screen all looks fine it’s only after i have generated a PS or a pdf and placed on our True Flow rip you are able to see it on the preview or on the Digi proof.

Any help on this would be much appreciated

Are you rotating the PDFs in InDesign?

Lee, I've had the same thing happen, not sure why but when I have jobs that cause trouble (12 up business card imprints) i use Preview to view the PS before sending it to the imagesetter.

I've had this happen less in InDesign CS2 than CS version 1.
