problem importing images in Indesign

Hi all,

when I import an image in Indesign when replacing an existing graphic, Indesign in it's wisdom uses the replaced graphics parameters ie. it's sizing and applies it to the new image. This must be a preference somewhere because on another mac running the same software this dosen't happen.

Not a massive problem but really gets my goat.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Cheers

yeah, that's a "feature".
It assumes you really want to use the previous settings for a replacement image.
You can always place the new file and not "replace the selected", but you will get a new picture box and then you will need to reposition and all that stuff.

not good news,
David
