Printing color doc to black & white printer... not print

We finally made the switch from Quark to InDesign and it is going pretty well so far. One thing I have ran into is that when some people print a color document to our HP 5100 black and white printer nothing comes out of the printer. Everything looks like it sends fine and spools but nothing comes out of the printer. We are using InDesign CS and running on 10.4.

When the Quack document converted to InDesign it most likely converted into a layer just like a lot of Pagemaker documents.

It could be that layer somehow ended up with assigned as non-printing.

I've seen this once before, I've always found it quite peculiar that InDesign converts non-INDD documents to layers taht are dissimular to its defaults.

How would I unassign non-print?

im scouring indesign right now, been a long time since i had this one happen. i thought it was the layers pallete.
