custom paper size problem

Just upgraded to OS 10.4 and upgraded to InDesign CS2. I am trying to output to a ECRM imagesetter but InDesign will not let me set custom paper size (grayed out), I can't output anything bigger than 8-1/2x11. I need to output sizes like 9x12, 10x13 ect. I have tried "print presets", "page setup" and all kids of other settings and nothing seems to work. InDesign help or the user guide is of no help, it just says if I can't use custom paper size then my output device is not capable of custom paper sizes. Of course this is not so, since I have been using it with older versions on InDesign, Pagemaker and Quark, for about 3 years, and it's always worked fine.

Have you tried to look for an updated PPD? It sounds like that'd be a good
place to start because the problems you are having are typical of a PPD
issue. Also, if the problem just came up with the OS upgrade it would point
to an out of date PPD.

Hope it helps

Ran in to someone today with the same problem.
Custom page size greyed out so they cant send anthing bigger than A4
to their RIP.

This is a G5 running OSX Tiger and Indesign CS2.
Apparently they have had this problem ever since ID CS2 was installed?
Tried to help by Googling for a PPD but could'nt find one that worked.

Would appreciate any suggestions/links to try.

have you got the latest PPD?
OS 10.4 and CS2 have issues with some PPDs.
The driver for your imagesetter has to be able to take custom sizes before CS2 will let you make one.

here's a link for ECRM drivers:

I have the same Image-setter without issues. I use the same PPD I used back in OS9.2.2 and before. I just select custom and the size is set automatically.
