suggestion #2:
Many times we have rasterize vetor objects because of thin white lines or inconsistencies between the flattened transparency and line work. So to keep things uniform we'll rasterize entire elements instead of partially. I know this is an issue with the Brisque and read about it happening on other rips and devices. Even pdf's will show it. We use 2 workarounds to solve this:
One way is to place a blank low res .tif over the objects we want to rasterize and setting the blending mode to multiply.
The other is copying the object and pasting in place. Then delete the contents of the frame, add a feather using the paper color and set the blending mode to multiply.
It's quite a few steps that add extra time but it solves the problem. It would be nice to have a tool that would do this type of enhanced flattening.... hey... call it an ENHANCED FLATTENER!! You could also have a function where it would move the type globally (or a color) to the very top layer. Man, that would save A LOT of time with books.
I just think the flattening process needs to be refined some where users have better control and spend less time fixing shit. A Pitstop for InDesign if you will.
