We have no problems with shadows as long as everything is CMYK. If it has to overprint a spot color then we have to turn the file to CMYK. You know 455=Magenta 285=Cyan. We use a Agfa apogee rip. The last place i worked had Brisque 4 and it was the same deal. Make sure your background is set to CMYK, not spot and try that.

Thanks big dog 3580, you saved my life! Prepress forums, once again, has helped me out quicker than any other online resource. I know this is a common problem with id, but PPF just gave me the answer to my problem effortlessly. Thanks again!
