links 101

hi all ? An odd thing with the links in CS2...Ok what i want to do is collect all images from our image database to a working folder in our studio projects. I use package. So now i have a collected Links folder. Now i want to relink to this new folder. Can't be done. i have to link one at a time.

So now lets try dragging the links folder on my desktop, quit out of indesign, drop the document into the links folder, drag the server to the trash. BINGO. The links are no longer pointed the my image assets volume. REMOUNT the server, drag it all back in studio projects. SHEESH!!

I swear this program has a mind of it's own ? renaming the folder with all the images does not break the link! Copying the links folder and tossing it out points it to the trash ARG!

"I LOVE THIS PROGRAM" (i really do, except the links pallet) any suggestions, simular stories, possible scripts, love to hear from you!

It isn't Indesign, it is Mac OS. I am assuming you are on a Mac.
