PSD files and vector paths

I have placed several PSD (native Photoshop files) into an InDesign layout. I have vector elements--shape layers and type--in the PSD files. When I printed the ID pages out and exported them to PDF, the vector elements have been obviously rasterized. My transparency flattening settings are 100% vector, and raster setting at 300ppi.

I was hoping that ID had the ability to handle vector elements in a native PSD file. Is there something I am overlooking?

BTW, when I changed the PSD files for EPS files with vectors preserved, I got great results.

Thanks for your input!

PSD Images placed into InDesign CS do not save vector data. EPS and PDF from Photoshop are the only 2 files that do.

I am not sure if vector data is preserved from a PSD file using InDesign CS 2
