Can't Open PageMaker Files

OS9, ID2.02, try opening PM6.5 and 7 files. No luck. Process starts but then says 'processing stories' and clock just spins. Have to cancel out. Have tried eliminating most of the text from the file I'm trying to convert. Still no luck.

How long do you let it spin? Sometimes it takes awhile depending on the file. I had a book someone did in PM6.5 on a PC 292 pages plus cover. It took about 15 mins to convert each chapter.

I had a similar problem with a job and it turned out to be a corrupt paragraph style (or maybe a character style)..

you might want to see if you have any of those setup, and delete them.

Once we have a big pagemaker file. Around 200 mb or so. It wouldn't save. Had to delete pages and save only two pages at a time. That was on OS9 a few months back. If you can open, try to save just a few pages at a time.
