4 color blk to just blk

O knowers of all things!

is there a quick way to convert my customers 4 color black to normal black?
when you change their 4c black palette to "normal black" the objects colored by it don't follow along.

you could "select same fill colour" in illustrator? then click normal black?

make sure all layers are unlocked, and that any elements are not locked as well

if you have embedded/linked files it wont change those though - you'll have to do that in their native programme

but, like rejames said, you can use the select same fill/stroke etc to see what is actually coloured by this swatch - its my hunch not all elements are, but use something similar that isnt necessarily in the swatch pallette

in IllustratorCS2, Select all..select Fiter/colors/convert to grayscale

so there is no fast way - you still have to select all the objects you want to re-color and change them manually....

no, the way the guys said above is pretty quick i think. you select one object you want to change and then you go: Select/same/fill color and change them to the color you want. make sure nothing is locked as it doesn't have effect when it is.

it really is very quick.

it's also good to use if there's a stray colour in there somewhere..... it become obvious if it's not selected.
