geometry shapes

I'm working just now on a project that contains many geometry's shapes,
sketches & layouts. I want to do it with vector software, but indesign
and illustrator have not the features I nead to this purpose. I have to
create triangles with a specific & accurate measures, eg one side 2 cm &
scond side 4 cm etc. The transform pallet in both Indesign & Illustrator
have only the option to define the height & the width of a shape, so its
works good & accurate only with squares like these. In triangles the
height is the length of perpendicular from vertex to base, not of the
sides.
I'm looking for a good software or 3d part plugin that can do it easily
simplicity. any help will be received with pleasure
THANKS!
