Illustrator CS2 link image problem

Dear all,

Currently i found that link file to Ill CS 2 having some color problem.
i had and image create in photoshop, i certain portion of the image i had remove the cyan color to 0% and save into PSD and EPS as well.
As i link the image into Illustrator, i can detect the portion i had remove the cyan color still containing 1% as i couldn't seen it in photoshop.
While i embed the image, there is no problem. had anyone of you meet this kind of problem before.

when you "link" the image it creates essentially a preview of the file inside your illy file. when you embedd it, it is actually in the file, and thus you can view everything properly in there.

if the color changes after you embedd it. for example in the photoshop file it as a 10% cyan, and in the illy it's a 22% cyan. you have a color management problem. check to make sure your profiles are the same in both programs, and try again.

I the image is embeded into illustrator, then i had no problem with the colour problem. But this will make the file heavy and big size.

but its a workable work around yes?

sadly its not a perfect world

pdf out of illy then - you'll get a smaller size, and then do the rest in indy

Yes, it is a way to solve the problem. There is another problem is my old rip cannot support or it might take too long to rip it
