DSC2 files in Illustrator CS3?

Just tried placing one now.

With Overprint Preview on I get a Black /or/ Deep red view of the DCS2 file (PC Illy Cs3)

Im curious about this aswell.

i just made a dcs2, but saved it as a composite and seperations (an old eps five)

placed and viewed correctly in illy cs3

havent time now but will create a composite dcs2 and place that tomorrow and see if that works

without overprint preview on though it did not look right - is that where you went wrong?

I have had success with dcs2 files placed in ill3. Only change I had to make was to open and resave the customer dcs2 file in ascii format, instead of binary.

If I am going to have to open the supplied dcs2 file in PS, then I am just going to save it as psd - end of story

Don't tell my RIP that DCS2 images in CS2 don't work, 'cause it cranks 'em out every day for over two years!

Have to save them in ASCII format, but the studio providong the art had no problem with that.
