The best way to convert 100s of Illus CS2 files to CS?

Client only has CS and we have over 200 files that need to be converted for her to open and print on her own

Please tell me that somebody has created a batch or script of some kind to do this for me...

Sounds like Interchange time - do not know of any batching and I'm not script savy. But after saving as Int's you will need to open and save as CS just to make sure nothing weird happened.

Best of luck - did you not know about CS only when they started sending files? I know that sometimes here we have to save back, because we have both apps on our machines.

ok, after re-reading your post, you can write an Action to perform this process.

Good Luck

Maybe a silly response - is CS2 available for the PC? It may be less expensive to upgrade the client.

CS2 is on my pc right now, do not know about the cost, but upgrading the client may be a good idea, but charging them to resave seams a better one to me, cant you get a reseptionist to sit and save files back all day???

If the CS2 files are eps's you could just batch distill as PDFs. Not elegant but they will open in any version of Illustrator that way.

the vendor can handle our files just fine, but the client wants to do some things with them internally and they are a huge company that is extremely cumbersome in taking care of their software updates.

i'm still working on playing with some actions, but haven't really had any sucess yet.
