Backup in Printready?

Is there a quick and easy way of doing backups of jobs in Printready 3.0?

A way to automate the process would be great but I do not see a way to do so.

Get a couple of hard drives for your back up...

We have had no end of trouble with backup for Printready for almost 4 years... I think we have finally got it sorted through Heidelberg.

We started out with a DLT tape drive and used this for backups during the week and for archiving jobs to tape to stop the server getting jammed up with jobs.

There is a piece of software installed on the main Printready server (perhaps after install by an engineer?) called 'Printready Backup Configurator', which can configure a few different ways of backing up. Backing up to tapes through experience is a pain, if you miss an incremental or full backup during the week (we had ours set to incremental backups mon, tue, wed and thur, and then a full backup over the weekend from friday night) by not putting in a fresh/repeated set of tapes the whole thing gets ballsed up!

We've remidied this now by buying a couple of 320GB hard drives running, we had an engineer in to set it up, but it basically does a full back up every night, in the morning we come in, eject on hard drive and replace it with the other and so on... not had a problem now for nearly a month.

The hard drives do need to be called EXACTLY the same thing, and the config software will look for a specific path to do the backup to

Hope this helps!

PS, failing that, the long winded process is to export the jobs from Printready to zip file and burn to a DVD?
