We're joining the club as well. Actually rejoining. A Delta/Signa shop since 1998. We are eagerly awaiting delivery of our Printready X v3.0 system, a pair of Meta's, and a Suprasetter E 105. Automation.....it's a beautiful thing.

Tonyhood, Earl of Kodak
“Why, you speak treason!” It's surprising that someone who steals from the rich to give to the poor would pay so much more for a workflow that doesn't do anything that the Printready system can't do.

Sir Thomas of Desktop

Printready Vs Prinergy
Thanks for both your replies, by the cut of your jib I take it that you are either Heidelberg engineer's or you can't see the wood for the tree's! I have worked with Prinergy for over 5 years in a very busy pre-press department. I have now moved jobs to a Printready environment and for the last year we have had problems upon problems. From system, preparing (refining) to archiving and general speed and efficiency. Like all pre-press workflow's speed and quality is two of the main requirements the Heidelberg system can not deliver either. I have sent artwork via isdn to my old work colleges and they have turned it around through Prinergy and sent a pdf back for approval before Printready has even finished it's so called preparing!
As I said before one word: Prinergy!

1) Gee - you must be brilliant!! I'm guessing Mark's location/signature had nothing to do with your remarks about being affiliated with Heidelberg.
2) Maybe you're biased to 5 years of experience... ie: comfort. Use that little thinker under your feathered cap.
3) are, not is. ...and you're saying the Heidelberg system doesn't deliver quality...? Please elaborate. I've been using Heidelberg's Prepress software for nearly 5 years, and it is in my opinion, very fast, efficient and produces superb quality plates on our Prosetter CtP. Period - no questions about it.
4) Don't be afraid of change little TonyHood.. otherwise you'll never grow and prosper. Kreodak is not the best, or only good option.
PRINTREADY... YEA!!

Sir Tonyhood,
You seem to be having problems that we do not on this side of the pond. I can provide you users that switched and love Printready for it's flexiblity over Prinergy. Some say it is much faster. Perhaps you can PM me your real name and your Company's name. I will contact my Heidelberg colleagues in the U.K., I am sure they will be glad to work with you in resolving your problems.
Regards,
Mark, he whom works for Heidelberg but in the colonies..
By the way, the link I gave is from a company that compared both and he was a Prinergy user so his production knowledge is years of Prinergy.

Hello Sir TonyHood,
I have not heard from you but would still like to put you in contact with my colleagues at Heidelberg U.K. Again, we are not seeing the problems you state over here in the States and perhaps we can get them resolved for you.
Regards,
Mark
