Font Boxes on Harlequin Rip

I hope someone can help me on this one. This problem has now happen on both of my Harlequin Rips. First off, I have a ECRM Rip with the Harlequin Rip version 7.1r0 and a RasterIt Rip Harlequin version 7.2r1. They are both running on windows boxes. Now we receive all our files as pdf's from our customers and place them in temples in InDesign CS2 on 2 different Mac G5's with OSX 10.4. The problem I am having is out of the blue, some of the type in just one page will be boxed. It seems to be only Times and Helvetica. The fonts are embedded and all I have to do to fix it is resend the file without doing anything else to it. I hope someone else has had this problem and and tell me how to fix it because it can be as little as just a couple of letters erratically through the document and it gets printed. PLEASE HELP!

Are the Pdf's you are recieving made with Distiller? If not, they should be. This will help.
I'm also running Harlequin, creating 1bit tiffs. This does happen to me with pdf being created out of Indesign, not using distiller.

Ok, thanks. That seems like a good place to start. I'll have to see how the customer files are being made

Go under "file" to "Document Properties". This will show you how the file was created. The other way would be, if you had pitstop. What I usually do to correct that problem, is to save it as a .ps file. Use the .ps or distill the new .ps. This should work.
