Scheduling software

does anyone know of any good print scheduling software, something that lets you enter jobs then show you a timeline or something like that, and also shuffle jobs around?

ha, i think this guy is a windows user. i've been looking for software like this too (but for osx). i found xtime planning pretty useful, but not exactly geared towards the printing industry. most software you find will be very intensive professional project management software. so, it may end up being overkill.

franklin offers one i believe, but i think it's a bit much $$ for a simple scheduling tool.

my advice would be to create an excel database. thats what i ended up doing.

I've heard good things about EFI as well, never used it though.

I've had a filemaker based system that wasn't bad. Think that was a custom deal.

Thought of trying to use iCal or maybe Entourage.

I do not know if you can wait until Drupa (May 2008) but we will be premiering a Scheduler program. Here is a link with a little bit on the program, you have to read a bit into the article to get to it.

Workflow moves beyond pre-press to become the common language of print | printweek.com | Latest Print Industry News, Jobs, Features, Product Reviews, Used Printing and Packaging Machinery

Thanks,
