Static from our copier
Hey wahts up out there. I have a small problem. Our copier, a ricoh 3260c, really throws static on to the sheets. When we go to run them through our mace collater and finishes it never can run smooths as it just picks up doubles after doubles. Does anyone know of a way to lower the static or get rid of it completely off a copier. We tried the regular tricks that they use on the presses but its just not eneogh.

copper braiding that goes across the paper path in the collator or you could also use dryer anti-static sheets. Those work well and smell nice too!

we have been using the copper braiding, that is what the press guys use, but it isn't working all that great but i will try the dryer sheets. How would i do that. Put it in the paper trays of the copier or wrapped around the paper holders like the copper braiding?
Good thinking though thanks

I like Bounce myself. What can I say, I'm a Mr. Mom...
Remember that copiers use an electro-static charge to hold the toner on the transfer belt/drum. Once the paper pass through that it holds on to a small amount of static charge despite having been heated to almost 400 degrees.
Just "stick it" on the back where the exit tray is so that every sheet coming out gets touched by it. On the Konica BizHub Pro 1050's they have an anti-static bar that is essentially useless except as a holder for dryer sheets. 8O
Do *NOT* put it inside the copier. Someone did that once. Once... And it was *really* bad.

as usual matt beals suggestions helped out a bunch. Though we still got some static it was able to go through. We were using hammeriall laser print so i suspect that it will carry less static in general then our gloss copier stock and I am testing that out today. Plus the office smells so nice and fresh with all the dryer sheets around.
