We have a konica c500....same crap. Skew, walking (color & print), bounce (2mm or so), shrink (keep your stock in a controlled area). Just learn to deal with it...find a happy spot...don't over tweak or you'll drive yourself nutz.
Have fun...some days are better than others. Have your service tech help too. Keep ALL feed rollers clean & have them replaced when needed. This is a big help with duplexing.

Best you can usual hope for is that everyone is out the same distance!!
With our xerox if its bad I align the paper trays - better if you use manual duplex than auto - if registration is important on job

I just tweak after running my proofs on the Minoltas, one machine can be out by 1/8" and bounce like a freaking superball in a rubber room, the other is usually only off my a few mm's. The B&W Kyocera kicks butt, never need to tweak it.

get used to it. 1/16 inch is not unusual. if you need register, put it on a press, or a xerox iGen3.

Our Xerox Docucolor 5000 is fine!
You have controls on the RIP to move the image to achieve better register...
....BUT as I have said a 1000 times...... It is not a Litho press!!!!

when to post
I just cant figure out how all these posts in this thread seam so seamless and yet are years apart. HaHa only for real.
We have a big xerox with some way of scanning special marks as it passes through or something. It can rival a press most days even on 12x18 coated cover. I know it has air blowers in the drawers and is about 10 feet long and runs a belt for imaging
I have personally cut a lot of those jobs and dont even have to shim the back stop most of the time and dont even have to look at the back side to see if its ok. and this is with full bleed and about 1/16th to the content. I just couldnt believe it. after what our last copy machine was like. that was a small xerox with manual duplex.
this really is 2007.
