Press Kompac System - Opinion

Hi everyone out there, got another issue.
Recently I was washing a press with a Kompac system. (I am just learning) I was washing the kompac with a rag as I was spinning the main wheel to turn the rollers over. As I turned the wheel, the rag was pulled into the kompac. It went in a couple inches max. The pressman happened to be there when I was doing it and he freaked and said you cant do that and now its screwed and it may never be the same.
I pulled the rag back out with little trouble.
This was a month a go, and now he is complaining that its leaking water and he is having all these problems. Its a 9910D press.
My question is, is it possible to total wreck a $3500 rag with such a slight mistake? I realize that it is possible to misplace the roller alignment and even crush the roller.
He is having problems with it, but I think he adjusted a bunch of things and maybe that is why he is having problems. So let me know what you guys think, are these kompacs as fragile as my pressman is saying!?

I agree with Logan. I have ran rags through a Kompac system to clean them up quuick. I also dropped a pice of chip board in it aciddentally while it was running and I was trying to show someone the plastic piece where leaking and why we needed new poly end pieces.

no way its ruined, hes trying to scare ya mate, you might just have to set the roller back, kompac is a pretty solid system.

I was talking to him (pressman) about it today again while he was putting a slight film of JB Weld on the end (to fill in some groves I think)of the roller in the Kompac. To me it looked like maybe the plastic pieces at the ends might just need to be replaced.
But anyways, he spread the rollers apart so the JB wouldn't glue them together and as the press rotated I could not see any imperfections in the roller, so I don't really get why he is having such a difficult time?!

If the rag went tru Kompac at end where it hit the Teflon Seals chances are it could have bent the seal backing plate to where the seal does not align with the end of the form roll uniformly.
You can go to our website Kompac.com where you can read PressTips on calibrating and troubleshooting the Kompac.
Or, ask any question at info@Kompac.com for free technical help.

Cheers
