Strictly on the case longevity and color correction, I'd go MacPro. The iMac is a great production machine for prepress but doing color correction just kills me. In either case, jack up the RAM.

I have 20+ Imac's (at least 2 GB ram)in our studio, G5 to intel duo cores, all run Phaseone with Photoshop 7, We try to keep the photographers, focused on photography issues not retouching/ color correction, that's what prepress/color is for. On average, a studio CPU, usually does not need all that horse power, from what I have seen,it only seems slow is when processing raw to tiff's, (maybe 10 times a day) the newer Imac,s rip thru this in about 30 seconds

Each is profiled and reprofiled at least once a week, just because they are moved so much. I believe the early Imac have lower delta E's that the later Intel's
