Back to the subject of the post, I use Quite Imposing all day everyday and fail to see why the original poster said it was a ten step process!

Here here...I use Quite Imposing too everyday.
Also the OP, Indy templates would work great...I cant see the issues.
How can this be HARD?? How many templates do you need?
If crops are the issue...put them in the PDFs.
Or just run 4up and waste trees and money.

Solution....

Here is a solution for under $900. Look at Dynagram's ATOM. You can create a custom layout for step and repeat using the layout manager to create the layout you describe. I just did it to make sure it would work. Once the template you want is created, you can save the layout for use later. It's really fast and simple.

I hope this is helpful!

It was probably too annoying to check back in to see the answers. Or perhaps
he's just too lazy.

I find it ironic that the OP took the time to layout a sample sheet, but can't find
the time, or desire, to do it for the job in question

I have done this same impo many times in Indy. I created a series of templates for the common postcard sizes, complete with guides and crop marks on a master page.

Keep in mind that if any InDesign drop shadows are used, when you rotate the postcard the drop shadow WILL NOT go with it. So, I often have to create a single page PDF and then place that in my 6-up template.

If it were me and I had to impose everything in Indy I'd create pdfs and impose only pdfs with crops.
