Epson Stylus 7600 - ink residue/smears

I have an issue with ink smears across the bottom of the page. It looks like it may becoming from the bottom of the Print Head. It usually is only towards the bottom of the page, not the middle or top. Any ideas as to why this is happening.

Thanks

possibly too much paper curl and the vacuum is unable to hold the paper down or flat, causing the print head to rub against it...does it sound different at the begining than in the middle or end?

I haven't noticed any different sounds from beginning to end. Thanks for your response. I will check into the vaccum to see if it is plugged or needing repair.

Thanks

what kind of paper are you feeding through it? if it is paper curl, you could see if they have a larger core paper for it..helps reduce the curl.

also not sure if the vaccum on the 7600 can be adjusted.
