Adobe - Kinkos relation slams industry!

Who thought 8O merely placing the send to button in InDesign would create such a fervor in the industry :x

With all the reaction I see posted on the home page of PPF I thought I'd pass along this link to a top industry site that watches all the news related to our trade:

http://members.whattheythink.com/emails/daily.htm

Besides the resentment and reaction to Adobe about there relation to Kinkos and how it affects the small business, this site has a lot of front page breaking news that deals with probably all of us in one way or another, small or large company. 8)

"When it was discovered that Adobe had made the decision to include a 'send to FedEx Kinko's' button in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader, we felt terribly betrayed by the company who has been supported by the printing industry," states PIA/GATF President and CEO Michael Makin ( BIO ). "We understand the need to make the workflow process as efficient as possible, but Adobe's decision to give up its neutrality and try to align its business with one printer is unacceptable. It is our hope that Adobe's CEO, Bruce Chizen ( BIO ), will realize the mistake that has been made and rectify the situation as soon as possible," continues Makin.
Frankly, I don't think it matters and this guy is just over-reacting. I don't mind having Kinko's as a last option. Perhaps they can just rename it as "panic" button.

LOL, that's an Excellent idea.

I must say tho, it is rather alarming that Adobe has given up it's "neutrality". I mean to have the only show in town display such blatant favoritism doesn't bode well. Are they trying to pull Kinkos back from the brink? And why do they care?

I'd guess FedEx Kinkos paid some big bucks to Adobe to put that link in there. It has the appearance that Adobe sold out to the highest bidder.

It's a straight up conspiracy! I just made a new tinfoil hat so I am now able to break it down for you without the CIA being able to locate my physical position;

Fed-X/Kinkos is paying a TON of money to Adobe to include a direct link to their little printing business. Now, while this may or may not generate much new business, it surely would be a good excuse (front) for a sudden increase in revenue.

The reason they need to cover themselves is because the REAL source of this huge influx of cash is the contract for counterfeiting of American currency in an effort to depreciate the value of the dollar. This is a great trick since it would throw the country into a depression which would in turn make us have borrow an enormous amount of money from the federal reserve aka The World Bank!

Now everyone knows The world Bank is owned by the Rothschilds with ties to the Illuminati and the shape shifting reptilian society that is slithering it's way into world dominance. Dick Cheney is of course their agent in charge of trying to undermine the American economy. Adobe is just a pawn in this game, they really have no clue or choice.

I have to go now, I just saw a big black Lincoln pull up out front.

One should ask themselves if they really want the type of prepress headaches that
Kinko's gets. Granted, professionals use the CS, but many of the professionals we do work
for would never send a job to Kinko's.

I'm with Tom on that. If someone is eager to send a job to Kinkos, do you think you'd really want that kind of client? The only time we get compared to Kinkos is when the customer was fed up with Kinkos and came to us to get their job run correctly.
I like tinfoil hats, any extras to go around?

Here's my favorite choice for tin foil hats. The traditional pointy design just wasn't doing it for me, I was happy to find a baseball cap design that the chicks go nuts for...
