FTP software?? Which one to use??

Hi All.
I've just been given the task of setting up some FTP software for our company. A friend uses Rumpus, which is mac software which uses his mac as the ftp server. Does anyone else use Rumpus? Any opinions would be appreciated.

FTP Server

I could've sworn that this question was asked on this forum not that long ago. Nevertheless, Mac OS X comes with a full featured ftp server. You can enable it using the system preferences control panel. If you need something with more control you can enable the system level ftp server over xinetd. You could also compile your own copy of VsFTPD, WuFTPD or ProFTPD. All are full-featured server quality FTP daemons that are freely available on the internet. As always I recommend VsFTPD. Anything else IMHO isn't worth risking my network over due to unknown security issues of other FTP servers. Just because it's easy to configure doesn't make it good.

I'm more than certain that there is a thread in this forum discussing the ftp servers for mac os x on prepressforums but searching is a task best left to the end user, not helter-skelter work for me.

RUMPUS (Mac only) is a GREAT product. full-featured and nicely configurable FTP server with a slick web interface for the non-ftp savvy, or the user that doesn't want to fuss with a FTP client and/or firewall issues... I don't waste time telling someone HOW to upload to our FTP anymore...even though I had pretty detailed info on it, seems nobody likes to READ these days...A little expensive, yeah...but one of the BEST investments I have made...30-day eval on the site.
Another option to look at is CrushFTP cross platform server...pretty cheap, offers WebDav and many bells and whistles...but seemed a little rough around the edges when compared to RUMPUS.
