Online Training?

Hi All,

Has anyone ever tried prepresshelp.com? It seems like a good idea but a bit pricey maybe? Plus I've noticed a couple of links that don't work which make me a little apprehensive.

Does anyone know of any other online training sites? I'm looking for something that has a little of everything but especially color correction.

Thanks!

Not wanting to pat myself on the back but post your questions here and let the training begin....
I teach Quark, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. (unofficially) I do have an ACE for PageMaker, and I have been teaching Quark for 5 years (though not licensed by Quark) When you know what you know... you take advantage, I have had people tell me that after a 3 week "training course" in Quark for example, they have learned far more from me in just one night :P If I can help I would be happy to. and I feel anyone reading this forum would want to ad anything I didn't know. So what I think is that you are, in the best "training" area you can be in

Thank you Clowns and Sparky for your responses.

I'm surprised that no one has even checked out prepresshelp.com or has any opionion on it whatsoever?

I did end up signing up for Lynda.com's $25 monthly subscription to check it out. So far i think it's good. I like the whole movie thing seeing it while it's being explained verbally.

I currently work as a Production Artist (8 years exp) for a small family-owned place that designs magazines. We're currently still on system 9. Which I know a lot of people are still at because of stability and basically it still gets the job done without having to pay so much to upgrade. But a couple of our clients have their in-house "designers" who think new is better or have just bought a new computer and it does not have 9. And now with Quark and Adobe putting out products that don't allow you to save to an earlier version or at least the ones we use, it's getting closer and closer to the point where we will probably have to upgrade soon.

So I've been looking for sites to help introduce me to all the bells and whistles in the new versions. I would prefer to learn the things that are geared production-wise such as what has changed as far as the managing the fonts, typsetting and CMYK vs. spot are concerned NOT here's how to make something look 3D. Also learning about color profiles and color correcting is very desirable as well.

So again if anyone knows of some sites that are more production oriented it would be greatly appreciated not just by me but probably a few other people here as well.

Thanks!!
