Corel Ventura?

Anyone have any experience processing PDF files created from Corel Ventura for PC (version 10 I think?).

We're pretty handy at processing PDFs in our shop (SWOP Newsprint), but I know I've experienced a tonne of problems with CorelDraw PDFs, so I'm not too excited about the problems we'll find with Corel Ventura PDFs. I understand it has a "built-in" make PDF funtion which scares the crap out of me unless it's made by Adobe.

At any rate, I'd welcome input from anyone who's dealt with these types of files before. I'm looking for known issues, troubleshooting whatever you can tell me would be great.

We output film on a Bluefin63 Imagesetter using ECRM RIP Ver. 6.2. Front end is hand-imposition (I swear it works great) using InDesign CS2, OSX.4.5, Acrobat 7.0+ professional, Pitstop, blah blah all the usual stuff on MAC.

Probably won't help you too much but a few years ago I did a CorelVentura job with spots and it worked ok. This was before pdf so I made ps file and ripped on a Brisque (most likely brisque4 at the time). It's probably very similar to CorelDraw: process stuff usually works ok, and simple spots, but watch for transparencies and pms colourized tiffs.
