Creating vetorized PDF files from Brisque

There is an alternative solution to PDF2Go called SmartMove. It runs on a PC box and monitors Brisque job folders using FTP file transfer. When a job drops into the folder on the Brisque it is automatically transfered to the PC.

The job then goes through a process where the LW data is vectorized. Kind of like the PS flattening of curves, this process produces vector outlines that exactly match the LW areas. Which is then combined with the CT data.

The resulting PDF is very much smaller than PDF2GO and opens in Acrobat or Rips on other rips extrememly fast.

David - what does something like this run? It may be useful for a one-time deal for us.

Hey gig0,

Can you send me your Brisque Job for the file you uploaded? I would be glad to convert it to outline PDF and post it back to the forum?

Send me an email with any requests and I'll send back info and pricing.

We used a product from Rorke Data called PageComposer for a while with really good results. We ran it on a dedicated G5. It was set up to process from hot folders and write finished files to a server. It was fast and almost completely maintenance free.

gig0 -
We were having similar problems with PDF2Go until we turned on Rip at Multiple Resolutions in the PDF2Go tab. Since then we?ve had pretty smooth sailing.

Thanks David,
I re-ripped it since it wasn't stored but it doesn't matter. PDF2Go will produce the same results. Heres the .job file:

Texasgirl,

Yeah I read about that fix on Creo's website but that multiple resolution option is only available on Brisque v5. We're on v4.

How nice of Creo keeping legacy Brisque users up to date, huh? It's not like we're completely different architectures or something.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I don't know if using 'RIP at Multiple Resolution' would resolve this specific issue since this example .job file is all vector. That function is supposed to address the issues because of CT and LW data using different resolutions but the file in question is ripped at only one resolution: LW res. But I'm curious to see how well v5 performs so can you or somebody else on ver 5 process the job file I posted through PDF2Go and post results?

It looks OK as far as I can tell. I zoomed way in in a few places and didn?t see the lines.

You can find it at:

Texasgirl, you got it. Thank you!

Ripped fine on v4.1 so it does work in v5. But I still wouldn't use it as a soft proof for our customers because of the hairlines. Would anybody? This proves how Creo abandoned legacy users by not fixing these expensive plugin issues and yet continue churning the marketing machine as a solution for all Brisque clients. bah.

Yes file size is a issue.

Nornlizer in Brisque 4 is very dated, based on Acrobat 4
What are you trying to do?
Rip to CT/LW then make a PDF youe need PDF to go
Distill PS on the Brisque to PDF then you need to use normolize module.
Is there anyway to UPGRADE/UPDATE Acrobat 4.0 in the Normalizer Module in Brisque 4.xx ??? Or, am I stuck with the ancient Acrobat 4.0 ???
