embed ICC profile

hi! i'm new to prepress
In AI, PS,InDesign i don't know what differences when i save a file with a ICC profile embedded and without ICC profile embeded. Is there any effects when i send that file with ICC included ( and without ICC ) to RIP for output film.
Thanks!

I wish I'm good in english.

Don't worry about the English!
Embedding an ICC Profile depends on how the individual Rip is setup. Not just the model of Rip, but how the user has configured it. Some are set to convert to a particular (usually CMYK) colour space from the colour space of the ICC profile embedded in the image. This may or may not be a good thing! In this case if the Rip "sees" a profile in an image it will assume that the colour space is incorrect, and convert to the colour space which the user set. Generally it is probably best to not embed the ICC profile of images going to a Rip. Many users have little knowledge of the settings in the Rip and anything could happen to your carefully created image! All depends on how the Rip is setup and whether you have control over it!
However if the image is being opened in PhotoShop it is worth doing.
Good luck!

If you are creating an image (for someone else perhaps) which is to be viewed in PhotoShop, an embedded ICC Profile will tell PhotoShop how to display the image, or how to convert it to another colour space (e.g. from RGB to CMYK, etc.). All this assumes that PhotoShop's Color Settings, etc. are set up! The ICC Profile will explain which exact colour space the image is in.
Cheers

If you convert the image (in Photoshop) from RGB to CMYK with the ICC profile from the printer, there is no need to embed it.
