Hi Im Maureen. I have a backround in Graphic Design and I have been working in the newspaper field for about 3 years now. I have recently re-located from Michigan to S. California. I have been working for a Printing Company for about 2 months now and love it so far. This website has been a great help to me so far. I will definitely be on here all the time.

Hi there Maureen. Come on in and make yourself at home. Scavage around all the wisdom of other prepress folks who do the same as you, take what you want, leave what you will.. and then meet us all down at the bar for a whiskey. :P

Welcome Maureen, care to mention the company? we hold no secrets here. The reason I ask is that I've been in this *^%$&^(*(*&*(& *&&^% trade for over 35 years with most of that growing up in So. Cal. I've since relocated to healthier digs in Up-State NY and love it here, and yes I still enjoy the snow!! though I miss the fishing down in San Diego but all the big tuna have been fished out
Anyway welcome and feel free to relax and let Dave poor a drink for you

My name's Roger and I've been working in the printing business for about a month over a year now and I've gotten the hang of many things, so far I've found this job generally easy. I have a background in amateur game development and some web management, as well as musical aspirations. I've yet to run a press, but I perform every duty of prepress operation (except talking to customers) and some bindery work as well.

Hey all,
I'm Joe from Fargo, ND. I got into the print industry by hearing of a job as a press helper, and then eventually migrated down to the lower levels(in more ways than one). I recently graduated with an AAS degree in Computer Network Administration. My actual job description here is "IT Specialist/Prepress", which includes, some art work, mostly digital imposition, some proofing and plating, along with network administration of the main site plus 2 satellite locations. I'm more like a hamster on a wheel, always running but making no forward progress. Welcome to those of you that are new. My experiences here have helped a lot, hopefully you will receive the answers you are looking for.
To those bragging about football teams, sorry I like College better and my HUSKERS pulled it out last night at the Alamobowl. WOO HOO!!

Could it be that the sinking ship is being righted, and a return to power is in the
works :?:

I love the sign held by the kid at the end!
"Order Restored -- Any questions?"
Yes I believe the ship is righted and headed for calm waters again.
