We're not asleep just like to gang the welcomes, that way I can serve up the brews nice and cold all at the same time
Welcome folks one and all to this little slice of heaven we call Prepress. You've probably stumbled across the largest collection of mentally deranged printers, prepress operators, business owners, graphic artists, oh hell just nice people there are on the planet, and we all have one thing in common we help our fellow members.
Just keep in mind the only stupid question is the one not asked

Yes indeed, welcome to you all, sure enough Dave will be around with the Drinks Trolley, (If he ever fixes that squeeky wheel ) The rest of us are happy to help and to be fare - Dave definitely knows his stuff, regarding prepress and especially when it comes to Margarita
Opposite sides of the planet? Doesn't really matter - all good

Morning Arthur! I'm down in 'the smoke' myself. Pull up a chair and stay a while, no doubt I'll see you on the train on the way in, or at the bar after work
Welcome aboard

Hello All,
I'm new to the forum, so I thought i'd introduce myself.
My name is Johan, and I live and work in The Netherlands. I work at a small printing company, and I'm in charge of the prepress. We very recently bought a computer to plate system and so far all is running great.
For those who are interested, here's a list of stuff we have...
- Heidelberg Speedmaster 52/2
- Heidelberg Speedmaster GTO 52/1
- Heidelberg Suprasetter A52 (Kodak Thermal Direct Plates)
- MetaDimension Rip
- MetaShooter
- SignaStation v2 (on Mac)
- A few Macpro's and iMacs
We mainly print for other businesses, mostly flyers, labels, stationary, envelopes etc. in full colour or spot.
That's it. I hope these forums can be of help in the future!
Kind Regards,
Johan

Hello David,
The shoes are just to confirm a common preconception about us Dutchies... I don't own a pair myself though

I actually saw someone wearing a pair of them last week...
here in Texas, in the summer, at one of our local lumber/hardware stores.
and just to let you know,
we don't have any preconceived notions of any kind here,
mostly notions of going home, sitting on the patio with a margarita or two, and burning something on the grill.
Life is good...
