Hello? Am I on?....o.k....hello?

umm, yeah...long time reader first time poster...well, o.k...only found this site a month ago. Anyway, have been looking through this site for about a month and decided to join in. I could always use like minded (masochistic?) people to rant and rave with and share info.

I've been in this business for....damn....20 years? Currently prepress supervisor at commercial web press printing company doing traditional forms and direct mail (junk), etc, etc....all the usual headaches and always some new ones.

Did I see mention of margarita's???

(sighs as he finds out he gets to sit and WAIT for some customer changes on a Friday night)

I still have one of our head retouchers wanting to "dim" the images on the fly.

8O

10 points to whomever knows what this means...
or a golden rocket pony.
whichever is available in all 50 states, except Puerto Rico and Guam.

dim:
short for dimensionalize:
means to adjust res & size TOGETHER without "resampling".... like the see saw motion I'm making with my hands that you can't see.

okay,
you are now officially older than me...

or been around a rocket scientist or two.

We used to say that we weren't prepress guys, we were rocket scientist (working on a PS2 with a Whisper Impo station, 2 gb shuttle drives and all).

ahh, the days before they invented a color monitor...
well, by color I mean something other than the green 13 inch display we had to work with!

thems was fun!

yee haw!

Now it's time for me to have the early-bird dinner, yell at the kids on the street and go to bed after the 6pm news!
