Hello all-
Name is Mandy and I've been in prepress for just over 7 years.
Best I can figure is I must like self punishment.
Got in to prepress rather by accident and it was a quick downward spiral from there. F-ed up a lot but learned a ton in the process and would not be where I am today without all those experiences. Was sheetfed all this time until just recently when I made the jump to heatset web for newspaper inserts so I'm undergoing quite the learning curve. Glad to stumble on this site - hope I can lend some assistence as well as gain some knowledge.

Hi everyone.

Jon here, from Melbourne, Australia.

As with Mandy, I stumbled into prepress and I too believe prepress (and possibly the entire print industry) is evil. However, for some sick reason I enjoy it; as an added bonus, it also pays the mortgage.

I stumbled across this site and believe it may be a valuable resource that may save me the expense of replacing another keyboard or mouse. I really should take out an AppleCare plan on those 2 items. I used to be stable, but a combination of prepress and atrociously igorant people broke my brain.

Thanks in advance for any/all guidance I take from the site. I'm hoping to contribute myself.

Hello all, my name is Shaun from Orlando, Fl. I've only been in the digital pre-press field for less than a year. I graduated from Full Sail in '01 with a Digital Media degree with no print knowledge. Fell into a medium size family print shop and began learning. Within the year, upgraded size of shop, pay (of course), and have found a "guru" to which I'm excited to learn from. I'm also hoping to gather as much information from this site that I can. Found it on the favorites list of the "ex-employee" that i now have his desk and computer. GO EAGLES!....had to get that in
