Hello everyone.
I've been working as a designer and in prepress for about six years. Went to school for both.
This is a great site. There is definitely a wealth of information here. A great resource for anyone involved in prepress. Very organized I might add. Hopefully I'll be able to add to it.

Mr. Mayberry, I apologize for hijacking the thread, but I must ask: just what is your recipe for a top shelf margarita. You see, I have my my own favorite recipe, simple tho it be. And, I definitely have my my own ideas as to which are good tequilas (Cuervo has no place but the gutter IMO).

3 pts. Tequila
2 pts. Cointreau
1 pt. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice (preferrably Key/Mexican Limes)

Add to cocktail shaker, add ice, shake, strain into glass, add fresh ice to finished drink. Drink. Repeat.

No salt on the rim thank you very much.

Tequilas of choice:
(not necesarily in order of faves)

Tenoch (Reposado)
Corralejo (Reposado)
Cazadores (Reposado)
Tres Mujeres (Reposado)
Sauza Tres Generaciones (Reposado)
Milagro (Reposado)
(Yes, I am a fan of Reposado more so than Aņejo or Plata)

These are are some of my faves. Cabo Wabo is OK, but too thin in body. Patron is decent but their reposado is a bit sharp for my taste.

Just another tequila fan seeking information. Who know, maybe you can recommend another good tequila.

no wonder I have trouble, I keep tripping over the gutter...

****HIJACK ALERT****

yeah, my famous "Atomic Margarita" is really close to what you have:
(handed down from my grandmother... not really)
3 shots of Tequila
2 shots of the lime mix o' choice
1 shot of Gran Marnier

Use a stainless cocktail shaker, fill it halfway with ice
pour in the ingredients listed above
shake that bad boy so hard and fast your hands stick to the sides of the shaker (this is where it gets it's name, you shake it so hard it gets mixed on the molecular level!)
pour into a frosty chilled margarita glass (no salt for me either), squeeze a quarter of a lime in there and
ENJOY!

Variations include:
use Pomegranate juice (1 shot of Pom and 1 shot of lime mix)
use cranberry juice (1 shot cran and 1 shot lime mix)

I also do, on occasion, take Kosher salt and sprinkle a pinch in the drink,
sweetens it up just a touch, not too bad.
Excellent choices of Tequila, by the way. I have enjoyed most of those at one time or another. Have you ever had any Don Julio? verrrry nice.

I almost don't like to waste a good Reposado (excellent for sipping with a nice cigar on the patio!) in a margarita , but, hey, WTF.

Cheers and Enjoy,
always glad to share,
and if your ever in the neighborhood of old east Dallas, stop by the patio and I'll whip up a few... or maybe more!
