I think we do well boasting ourselves as a "community", here to help each other and as the now Legendary  (where have you been) Sparky has said "Share the knowledge"... Welcome aboard Devin. Feel at home for we all are wearing the same chains you speak of. :P

Hi all, my name is Traci and have been in printing for the last 20 years. I've been lurking around the site for about the last year or so, but have just recently found the time to start posting and contributing (job change, more time during the day)

Started my tenure in flexo when i was in high school doing rewinding and shipping, found out about graphic design and prepress and pursued.

Worked in flexo for about 15 years, then 9/11 happend and found myself in the wonderful world of offset and have been here ever since.

Am well versed in Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark, Indesign, and the numerous oddballs that always seem to worm themselves into our busy days.

Am Apogee Certified trained and am currently working with CTP in the form of ABDick 2340 and Harlequin RIPS, as well as Heidelberg Delta trained. and working with SMDI74's and QMDI Presses.

I really appreciate the information that I have gotten from this forum and hope to contribute more to the topics and rants that go on here.

THANX!!

Welcome to the forum Traci. Just watch where you step around or you'll surely step on someone who is passed out drunk. A lot of people around here drink....for some reason.

Enjoy the ride Traci, if you find time step into the lounge where you'll be served with pleasure at the bar, or alternatively, pull up a chair and Dave will be round with the drinks trolley, once he's fixed the squeeky wheel

We got our own Prepress Goddess!!!
very cool!

Welcome Tracy, pull up a stool and I'll have the drink mobile round in a bit, had it in for some maintenance.
In the meantime, I'll fire up the beer truck and send one your way.

Cheers!

I don't think I've ever introduced myself officially on the site.

My name is Peter Knipschield.

I have gone from table stripping starting in 1989 for Black Dot putting together text books to now working at a printer in Rockford, IL. I also work part time for a new start-up company that does large format printing on various materials and some specialty trade printing for the funeral industry.

Like most of you I eat, breathe, and sleep this crazy end fo the industry. Judging by my avatar, I am a Mac guy. I'm not sure about this whole Intel thing. But like OSX, i'm sure at some point I'll embrace it.

Other than that, I really enjoy this forum. It's been helpful. It's been a sounding board.

You left it a little late! Only kidding. Welcome along, I haven't introduced myself at all. I think people have the measure of me though.

Did I hear someone say I'm a threadjacking drunk? No? Well it sure sounded like it.

I'm off to the Lounge. It's Friday

hello all. I am a prepress monkey working at a large format printing and sign company in Irvine. I am a graduate wanting to get into advertising, but felt I should start out in a print house to learn more about print. I really want to work for Y&R. I found you guys via GDF.
