Screening challenge

Which screening technology gives more benefits when printing?

Stochastic 2nd. order (Staccato, segundo, organic...)
Stochastic Multiphase
Cross modulated (Sublima, Highline, liso...)
Hybrid (Spekta)

I have to say......it depends.
I'd love to use stochastic or hybrid, but will wait till we are truly a color-managed shop. You have less leeway on the press when using non-traditional screening. Depends on the shop, the press, the workflow, the aptitude of the prepress and press monkeys.....

THanks Scott.

Does Nexus includes stochastic and hybrid screenings?

What kind of work do you do? (packaging, commercial)

I'm working with commercial jobs and I've seen that screening like sublima would be a standard for produce commercial jobs, I mean sublima gives benefits as conventional high lpi and stochastic does.

Our presses are new and our pressmen have worked at 260 lpi. Anyway we need to make press proofs when printing with different screenings, but I need to know more about the real world of new high tech screenings.

A beer for you (thanks)
