Kodak Virtual MatchPrint

Any shops using this software? If so, how is it going over with your clients?

We are using it with a few clients now, more for showing creative retouching moves, than for color. Could possibly be a huge savings just for internal proofing purposes alone.

I haven't used it yet, but my last shop was getting forced into it by some of the customers. How well is the colormatching?

we've got it here too...I kinda like it. I don't use it every day, but it's nice to get you in the ballpark. I still think you need a dot proof to get you to home plate, though.

Customers like it to see hi-res/color accurate screen shot. But then again, we haven't used it a whole bunch. I'm kinda cringing the day a job bounces because of it. Then it will be on the loading dock.

Ahhhh......Color.....Sad to say it varies image to image. We calibrated our profile using our normal Kodak target image. That looks great, but some images will vary slightly. All in all it is a great tool. It has saved us alot of time by not having to pull randoms on every little move made. There are some great features...such as the toggling between before and after images. Art directors are the tough ones, they still want the hard copy in their hands.

So can you save screen images for randoms to submit to the customer?

go to www.matchprintvirtual.com, they have a demo you can go to. it is a web based program, which acts as a dedicated ftp site to transfer files. you view the files through realtimeimage.
