need opinion on slide scanners

does anyone use some of the new slidescanners. like nikon, polaroid, microtek???
i think with one of this A$2000 - A$5000 scanners you can produce drumscanner quality.
is there anyone who really compared them?

we just bought a polaroid 4000dpi, and once i make it work, i hope it delivers good quality.

don't forget, years ago when the scitex eversmart came out, no scanneroperator believed in it. today many prefer it to a drumscanner
