MS Word 98 for MAC problems keeping graphic behind text...

...during printing. It always comes back to the front and obscures the type!

I've tried inserting the graphic as a footer, or inserting a Picture from File, which is how the help files tell you to do it, and then formatting it as a picture, and telling it to "float above" text, then using the drawing menu to "send behind text" and it looks fine onscreen, but when it prints out the type is obscured by the graphic, as if it were on top! Argh. Anyone?

MS word should only be used for text IMO

Keep in mind, there are many effects in word that work on wysiwyg printers but not postscript.

I just got this to work in Word 2000, outputting to a HP Laster Jet (PS).
Insert picture.
Format picture/layout -> Behind text.
Drag it where you want it.
Click advanced.
Text wrapping -> Behind text.

Worked OK.
