how to print to file from acrobat?

hi there!
can someone tell me how to setup a printer (mac) to print to file out of acrobat 7? there is no "print to file" checkbox, so i would assume i need a printer set to "file"
(on os 10.39)

It involves setting up a Virtual Printer (check Apple's forums for exact instructions - been too long for me!), but you could just as easily Save As.. or Export... from Acrobat and choose PostScript.

hmm - there is no "export" but i was able to save to an eps. what i'm trying to do here is circumvent security settings in the pdf. apple forums wern't real clear a few years back when i checked, so asking here (lazy me).
file cant be placed in id, or rasterized in ps. theres always more than one way to kill a horse...
