Prepressforums.com - PrepressForums.com and PrintPlanet.com have merged!

It's my pleasure to announce that PrintPlanet.com and PrepressForums.com have merged! Both sites has have always had the mission to connect members in the industry, promote discussion and encourage peer to peer support. By combining our efforts I believe we can create one of the best resources the industry can offer. I will be the Managing Director and Community Manager of the combined forums.

What does this mean for PrePressForums.com? Together with PrintPlanet.com, we have built a brand new platform for the forums that I think you will enjoy. In order to merge the two communities, members from both sites must register at the new PrintPlanet.com. PrePressForums.com will remain in it's current state until September 4th, on September 5th new registrations and postings will be turned off. The site will remain as a static archive.

I would like to thank the moderators and contributors that have helped over the years, Sparky, Matt, Jezza and Almaink and to Bart and Jezza for posting news stories. Thanks to all the members of the site, without you this site wouldn't exist. I hope all of you will join me over at PrintPlanet.com to make this new community as great as PrePressForums.com

The official relaunch of PrintPlanet.com will be on September 5th, we are announcing this early to existing members of both PrintPlanet and PrepressForums so they may preview and provide feedback on the new site.

Congratulations (I guess) Cory. I have enjoyed the interaction and information that we have all gained from the members at PrepressForums.com

I don't know dude. That other site doesn't like avatars and sigs. I hope that they have a web page that will list the most recent threads like this site does on the home page, I think it's an important feature and has always helped draw me into discussions.

The avatars will stay on the new site, signatures we are tweaking and looking for a way to incorporate the same type of data.

That is why we want your feedback! we want to know what is important to you.

as fas as the landing page goes, yes there will be much more information on that in the future (hot topics, recent discussions etc etc)

I'm not really excited at all. I'm already a member over there... and I participate far more here at home.. I mean PPF. Too stuffy over there. Or so it seems. Plus my main focus is Prepress.

It will be interesting to see how much of this group, if any, participates over there. Other than the few I already know do. Including myself on a rare occasion.

I have to agree with Vee. Just look at the traffic at PrintPlanet and the traffic at PrePressForums. It was no contest... much more happening here and much more useful. Only time will tell.

I guess we will have to wait and see, but i can't help feeling sad about this. this site blows print planet away when it comes to useful info. hope to see everyone over there.

Time will tell if this is a good thing.
I hope Cory retains the rights to this domain if this doesn't work out as expected.
PrepressForums has been a good friend, easy to navigate, and many people contributing a wealth of valuable (and not so valuable) information.
Change is just change, and people tend to resist it if they have something that works well for them (like this site)....not always good or bad...
Fingers crossed, signing up now......hope its the same community....
