As a member of both forums. I am sadly disappointed in this decision.

I'm too lazy to go back through this thread and count up but if this thread were a poll I think Cory might be standing alone in the "like this decision" column.
Still though I understand the decision Cory but...
You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. And printplanet.com is a pig.

Well, the PPF presence is noticeable if not overpowering at the new site. Not too hot about the new decor but the faces are the same. That's all that really counts, right? I don't think it will be so bad.

good afternoon,
im very sorry that prepressforums will not be the same, but it seems to me that everyone has really gotten into a lather about this kind of prematurely. i know i dont post as often as a lot of you, but i have gotten a lot of info, and given too.
my thought is that immediately this morning there was a lot of negative feelings towards printplanet, a lot of "lets show them" kind of attitude from ppf users both here and on the beta site, so it shouldnt surprise anyone that they feel like they are under attack, and are naturally going to be defensive.
maybe if we actually gave the site more than 6 hours, it might not be as bad as we all feared. im sure there are some pretty decent folks over there, but nobody wants to have a bunch of strangers come in and start blustering about how ppf is great and printplanet sucks.
just my 2 cents,
cr

Gee whiz Chris,
I mean gosh,
you really are an all-around good guy!
(and probably right)
I guess we're all "very sorry that PPF won't be the same"

I think they are tolerating a lot of stuff from the PPF people in this early stage but I can't see them allowing that to continue for much longer. It's not going to be the same as PPF. Printplanet has always put the hammer down when they felt the urge to. The thing I always liked about PPF was that the people here were not so uptight. Talking about Prepress on an internet message board is now going to be like...work. And that's too bad.

That is too bad. It's stressful enough as is.. let us freely talk and BS like we'd like to. I hate having that big thumb over my head!
