The format, layout, participation, people, functionality... it's all better here.

Plus we are "allowed" to get off topic here. That's against the "terms of use" or something over there - come on, give me a break! Not that it's the purpose, but to be able to without being punished is nice.

It's good to feel you can freely speak your mind - to other professionals in your field. I'm not so much for censorship.

Is the name going to change? How about "Cory's PrintPlanet"
Congratulations Cory, I hope it works out.

I predict more than 10 pages on this thread by the end of the work day EST.

yeah well here's another . . . . .

Not sure if this is good or not. PPF is a well run, easy to use site. I was never a fan of Printplanet. I'd rather see their site added to this one. Throw a few more forums in here.

Also no to hip on yet another "printing" site. What I liked about PPF is it was PREPRESS. Sure there was some print stuff thrown in, but usually from prepress people.

Time will tell I guess, no one twists anyones arm to use either site.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

PPF was fine the way it was.

If it stays dry and humourless and stiff like many large corporate printers can be, I'm gone. Been there done that.

I am throwing in with a Buzz kill for Cory. I am not sure of the buy out from them. I am sure tehy approached you. Cory this site has been the one thing I always looked forward to reading. The insite of all persons has always been great. It was like talking to a freind. I hope the transition feels that way. If it is too stuffy I am sure i won't be following much. They had better have given you millions for the opportunity otherwise you loss a great asset.

Later hope to see you all on the other side

Maybe they brought in Cory to revitalize their web site. I've been over there as well and like the rest of you that have it's pretty stuffy, perhaps we can liven' the joint up!

I agree. The hottest topic so far at the new PrintPlanet has been about censorship and violating the terms of use. Let's talk prepress with people that sound like they actually work in the business. It's nice to have feedback from suppliers, but over there it just sounds like somebody is always promoting themselves or their company... and that is why it's been dying. Nobody wants to be hear the sales pitch all the time.
