Well I was in shock hearing about this, I first heard about this on the CTPP email list, which BTW is good but has totally different feel to this forum.
But I am in two minds about it.
If I was Cory I would have done the same, as one hopes he is getting something out of it. After all he has put in a lot of hard work over the years on this site.
From a personal note I can not join, according to the terms and conditions, you have to disclose all formal and informal conections to vendor companies. which can be publically viewed.
This can be good to stop blatent sales advertising and knowing who is saying things. But in my case I am not in sales, but work elsewhere for a company and also have informal links to another company.
The fact no one knows who I really am here and who I work for means I can give my 2ps worth on issues without fear of looking like I am talking on behalf of an organisation.
This is not to hide my connection to the general reader, but I would rather not have those above me in the company I work for know who I am, and informal links I have to other companies.

that of course would be a way round it, you might think that i could not possibly comment as to if I might do that
On the plus side of the new site I notice that the blatent advertising by one of the regular posters on here and CTPP appears to have been edited out by a MOD

Well, I am over there too. Just having looked around, I already miss PPF I sure hope I havent just lost the only site I concider worthy of spending my time on. Last damn thing I wanna do is "work" on a freakin web forum...geeez, now when I do read/post, you tellin me I am now doing it with "important" people in the printing field? F that....I liked talking to people who DO what I DO for a living.

Heard that... I'll be doing whatever I can for members of PPF. I don't think there'll be any over night answers though...

Shall now go through sign-up and see what happens. Pre-judging's not smart. I'm one of the never-quite-got-around-to contributing $$. Gather that wasn't the prime problem for Cory, at least I hope not. More like full-on for too long, I guess. I'll be quicker to contribute in future, though, in case it was a factor.
Thanks Cory and the core crew. Saved my bacon a few times. And maybe just once or twice actually fed a possible solution back!

a dedicated place for Prepress?
Been reading all your posts about how PPF was home for y'all.
Why not start our own independent forum, dedicated to prepress only?
Not to compete or anything like it with Cory's new project, but the community might not want to join the media corporation one...
Who would be willing to pitch-in through Paypal to start something ?

The sun sets on a great day.
