well - just got in work, spent 30 mins trolling these pages, and i'm sad ppf is moving. this place is the best for what we do - end of. had a look over there - this is gonna be hard work

but - cory - thanks for ppf - if it wasnt here i'd have sank a few times and not been able to tap into the knowledge and skills that surpass my manyfold - so a massive thanks to all ppf'ers

so now i guess we gotta go ppff'in go shake up some bones on the dark side - pointy seems to have done a great scouting job too.

so - they have a bar huh? oh dear. tell the sad stuff gits to stand aside - there's a monster on the way and he's thirsty!

on a rebellious note - shoudnt we all use the PPF logo as an avatar? ya know - rebels without a clue and all that.....

I am incredibly sad to see PPF go, I am also a subscriber to PP, it just does not have the edgy feel that this forum has. This forum is about Prepress and the frustrations of prepress, especially in the equipment end.

Maybe all the workflow companies and equipment manufacutures are pissed about negative comments about their products. IDEA-- stop making garbage products and selling them as "solutions".

Anyway Cory good luck. Take Care..

This will be my last post here.

Many thanks to Cory for all the work and fun. Jokes on the Friday were my favourite. I learned lots and passing on lots of info over the years.

Cory - you have a ton of work to do in a short time. Overly formal and stuffy is the feel. Fun but rough start. If they are stuffy and continue to talk down to the posters I am gone. The mods on day one were like "behind the curtain" cerebral thinkers especially that Thomas Greer. My time is snippets during the day as I run my business. The overtone feels that it is an ad driven site and they need hits to raise revenue based on the host site. Whatever, not a homey feel but a work in progress. Thank goodness Pointy is leading the way wacking and bashing from her Golden Pony.

Over to PP guys and ladies. We have work to do. C&P our favourites and help Cory.

Though I am relativly new here, I feel I have found a home. I love that answers to tuff questions can be found here AND great humor, rants an raves. This can be a very stressful profession and we need a lounge to relax in.
Good luck Cory and hope to see Y'all there.

I've been a member of PrintPlanet for long time now and at some point was in the "top 10" posters ... but things got stuffier as you guys said, and defocused... I joined this just a few months ago, and man, was I happy...

I believe the main difference is the awareness of having thousands of viewers. You do have an instinct to act differently in front of a crowd. For example, were someone to bash some Agfa product here (did someone said here the X45 is pure crap?), well, Steve won't mind THAT much as if someone bashes an Agfa product there, in front of thousands... gotta react.

And with so large an audience, there will always be someone who'll read the wrong twist into whatever you post.

There's also much less granularity. Not an "esko" subzone in a "workflows and apps" zone, for example. Well, this may not be that important, time will tell.

The one important thing is for you guys to act as if nothing had happened, to post in exactly the same tone and mood as if you were here, just forget that you now have thousands of viewers among which your former, current and future bosses, your competitors and your suppliers probably are.
Ooops - did I blew it by saying that?

Well, there's always anonymity, right?

I belong to both forums.
I spend most of my time here. There is a reason for that. There is some good information at PP, but as other have stated they dont have the same community feel.
Cory, its your house, thanks for the time you gave us.
Lets hope we get a Rant and Rave section, as that is important to help keep the spirit of PPF alive.
