Packedge upgrade

Hello everyone,
I'm hoping some of you can help me here. I have been asked by my boss to put together a presentation to justify the step up from Deskpack and backstage lite to a couple of Packedge seats and Backstage full system.
I worked in Packedge for 9 years and have only recently changed jobs and this new place uses Deskpack, which after using P/E for so long, as a royal pain in the butt. I know the obvious benefits for Backstage, being that you cannot chain ticket together in B/S lite, unless you create loads of hot folders. I'm hoping some of you can give me your thoughts on how to justify this upgrade. Thanks in advance for the help folks!

Hi,
well, i dont think you can use different types of screenings or rules in deskpack.

At work we only have one deskpack license and it's really annoying, you cant really do much, like i was saying different screening ( samba and circular) or rules, etc. and neither you can place a ct file so far i know.. of course you can work with psd or eps but ct files are lighter.

Well, hope it can helps.

cheers
Marcello

DeskPack Screens

There is a DeskPack plugin ( ESKO plugins for Adobe Illustrator ) called ScreenX which will allow you to select objects in Ai and assign specific Esko dot shapes, screens, and rulings, to these individual objects as they go through an Esko FlexRip.

As far as upgrading your system and adding PackEdge stations, Esko would be happy to do a workflow audit to revel and document what particular Esko tools or applications would help maximize error reduction, user proficiency, and your production levels, in your environment.

Kind Regards - pdl
