Pitstop 7.0 Font Picker stalls

Intel Mac 10.4.8
Acrobat Pro 6
Pitstop 7
Extensis Suitcase X1 Client (We use Suitcase Server)

I have a user whose font picker stalls whenever she tries to use it. We have to Force Quit Acrobat to be able to use the computer.

Does it stall when opening or when selecting a specific font?

Can you turn off your Suitcase Client to see if that's causing the issue?

After selecting a section of text we click on the Font picker button and we get the spinning beach ball. We have tried it with suitcase off and we occasionally have gotten the Font Picker window to come up, but more often than not we get the beach ball. The PDFs that we work with are on a server, we thought that might be the problem but the same thing happens if we use one from the desktop.

I don't think it's related to the network.

The reason probably is that PitStop Professional is looking on your machine to locate fonts. When he's not able to find, them this is the result.

Maybe you can do the test. Just create a small PDF with one font. Install the font on your machine and see if it still happens.

Isn't there a setting in Suitcase to copy the fonts on the local machine? I'm not really into font management, so it's just a guess...

What you also could try (this is a long shot) is deleting the PitStopFontInfo.dat file in your User main preferences folder. Maybe that's interfering.

Have you reported this to Enfocus Support?

cheers
